National intervention project in Denmark
Sund Kapital (Healthy Capital)
A national initiative strengthening the mental health of Danish entrepreneurs
Sund Kapital is a cross-sector partnership led by Danish Entrepreneurs (Danske Iværksættere), funded by the Velliv Foundation. It aims to make mental health a natural and essential part of entrepreneurship in Denmark. The project brings together business organisations, advisors, and researchers to build a healthier, more sustainable entrepreneurial culture – one where founders can thrive, not just survive.
In collaboration with Mind Your Business, Sund Kapital introduces the MYB methodology to Denmark through a national train-the-trainer programme, 6-week training programs, 2-day-bootcamps, workshops, and resources designed to help entrepreneurs, advisors, and business supporters work consciously with mental health as a foundation for growth.
The project will equip 14 Danish trainers to deliver MYB-based programmes and bootcamps nationwide, supported by research from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Together, we aim to ensure that talking about mental health becomes as natural – and as strategic – as discussing business models or growth plans.
Through this partnership, Sund Kapital seeks to:
- Empower entrepreneurs to strengthen their self-awareness, balance, and mental resilience
- Train advisors and organisations, the ecosystem surrounding the entrepreneur, to integrate mental wellbeing into their work with startups and SMEs
- Build a strong evidence base for the link between mental health and entrepreneurial success
- Share best practices and tools across the Danish entrepreneurial ecosystem
Sund Kapital is being implemented throughout 2025-2027 and represents a growing movement in Denmark towards sustainable entrepreneurship – where mental capital is seen as business capital.
During that time, it aims to reach 2,000 people through physical sessions, and 20,000 people via digital tools.
